Following health protocols is all we can do to help the frontliners. We will heal as one if we are one, so stop being naughty.

BE AT WAR WITH COVID-19

        Praying is the most powerful weapon we can use this time of pandemic. Fighting with the things that we cannot see is the hardest battle we can encounter.  However, we, the Filipinos, are strong people because we can still manage to smile or laugh even if we’re in the middle of blows.

This year, there are many calamities such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and most specially flashfloods that we’ve been through yet, we are still here standing strong but, the Covid-19 disease performs a different big blow to us for the reason that it is the only one remained unsolved. Many people already lose their job and many students struggling financially, emotionally and mentally that ends up committing suicide because of this new normal. On the other hand, we can get through it by performing small steps. Following health protocols is the easiest way to do, and by performing this, we can make progress. Moreover, unity and cooperation is necessary because we can’t achieve progress without these.  In addition, tourist destinations should be close temporarily because wearing facemask is useless when we're going out in crowded places, as Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said, “Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough we must do.” As well as, don't wait for the vaccines to heal us, instead, starts performing actions that will eliminate the viruses.

As a Filipino, I believe that we can get through it because we have strong faith in God. We will heal as one, rise like sun until this pandemic is gone and as a result, we are now able to have fun.

CLOSING STAGE

     There are many lessons that I have learned this grading period. Doing the front or back page of the souvenir book is such a great thing. Even if I am not expert in Photoshop, I enjoyed using it because I deal with dedication and the feeling is different when you are working with commitment and loyalty.

However, there are struggles that comes along our way and one of it is I forgot how to use Photoshop again and it is hard for me to recall all the uses of the tools. It takes me days to finish it. In addition, all activities this month of February were cancelled due to coronavirus and it will be hard for me to submit all the requirements at the same time.

  However, time management is the best solution to focus on the problem. You must have time management to divide time in specific activities so it will be easy for you to finish it. Failing to manage your time harms your success that will cause stress and can have some consequences like missed deadlines, poor work quality and inefficient workflow.

Moving on, I will keep in mind the lesson I learned. I may not use it every day but I know that there will come a time that I will use it someday. In life, we should learn by heart because even how many years will passed, only hearts do not forget.

CASTLE IN THE SKY

  When I was a child, there are a lot of aspiration I want to do. Until now, I am still confuse of what strand or course should I take in when I am in senior high school and college. My first choice is to become a teacher but then I want to become a doctor, pilot and astronaut. Maybe I am still in discovering what my passion is.

  As I grew older, it’s just like I want to become a pilot or an astronaut. I want to go in the space to see the stars and galaxies that is very close to me. I want to step in the moon and I want to travel the planets. I love everything about science. Although I can’t afford that, I have my second option and that is to become a doctor. I decided that I would take up medicine but if I have the opportunity to engage in aeronautics, I will take the chance.

As for now, it may be hard for me to decide the right path but I will follow my heart and passion to discover what is really I love that will lead to my happiness and so that I will not regret at the end.

FOUNDATION DAY

  Before the school year ends in Ilocos Sur National High School, they have a good time because of the Foundation Day. This is one of the most awaited celebration during the month of March and it is one of busiest activity because of the dance practices, preparations, and props making to be present.

This is a two-day celebration. On the first day, it is the coronation of the prince and princesses and they were given crowns, sash, trophies and bouquets as a sign of gratitude and honor to them. While in the second day, the parade will do. In morning, the students from grade 7 up to grade 12 will do the parade around Vigan with their props. In afternoon, it is the field demonstration of the students. It will start at 1 pm, the arrival of honors and the guest speaker will present her/his message. After that, the field demonstration will start.

  The school is open for everyone and they are allowed to watch the event at the same time. It is the moment in time wherein we celebrates the founding of our school that was filled with happiness. It aims to extend gratitude.

THE TREASURE CHEST

     Kannawidan Festival is a festivity that keep going from the last week of January up to the First week of February. It is included in the program is the celebration of the foundation day of the province, Ilocos Sur. To give you an idea about their treasure, the citizens conceived festival that show up the cultural traditions that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage and they named it as “Kannawidan Festival.

  On the opening day, there is a mass held at the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral and it is followed by a procession of the Patron Saints. This is their way of giving thanks to the Almighty. This event indicates the innate religiosity of the inhabitants. The children should acknowledge the purpose of this event because nowadays, many traditions, songs, dances, and other Ilocano culture are not recognized by the younger generations of the province because of the technology.

  The festival is also presents the province’s trade and agricultural products. This festival is gather to preserve, cherish and promote the province indigenous culture, folk music and arts.

HEARTLESS

     Accepting that we do have the power to make change. It’s like living on the negative, blaming others, shutting down new ideas, thinking it’s not worth the effort, or whatever other negative self-talk may be taking place. All those things cause us to be stuck.

     In order to make change, I should start on small that can take and gain my strength. In addition, I do it until I change myself to become a better person. It is hard to change and this is one of the challenge for each individual, but the change has to come from having the courage to take that initial action. Action is the cornerstone of confidence–and change.

     Sometimes, I’m having a hard time keeping promises to myself, because I’m afraid that I can’t do it. I don’t have self-confidence and that is one I want to improve by changing my negative thoughts into positive because I don’t always have my friends to advice or to cheer me up, it should start from myself not the people around me. This is one of the way by helping myself to get up.
